Police say man fatally shot Sunday in northwest Aurora was “targeted.”

AURORA | An unidentified 20-year-old man died of gunshot wounds early Sunday after he was shot in northwest Aurora and made his own way to a nearby hospital, police said in a statement.
Police said hospital officials reported the shooting to police.

The man was apparently shot around 3 a.m. somewhere in the 1700 block of Boston Street, near Montview Park, police reported.

“The victim, a 20-year-old male, was self-transported to the hospital where he later died,” Aurora police spokesman Joe Moylan said in a statement. “The evidence at the scene suggests the victim was targeted. The investigators do not believe there is a danger to the general public.”
