Birmingham: Another shooting, another murder

BIRMINGHAM – Birmingham police were alerted to a shooting in the 1400 block of 1st Avenue W by two ShotSpotter alarms on Saturday around 9:37 p.m. One registered five shots fired and the other registered approximately twelve shots fired.

When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive adult male gunshot victim in the roadway and shell casings scattered on the ground.

Police believe there was an altercation in another area that also spilled over to the scene of the shooting. No one is in custody at this time.

Saturday’s murder is the 125th in 2024. Eight of those have been ruled justified.
