Man dies after knife attack at Miami-Dade trailer park on Krome Avenue

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Florida. — A man died Saturday after being stabbed during a fight in a remote mobile home community surrounding a pond in western Miami-Dade County.

Julissa Melo said the stabbing victim was her boyfriend, Richie Chavarrias, who was well-liked in the small community east of Krome Avenue and the Everglades Wildlife Management Area Conservation Area.

“It was shocking when I heard he died. Everyone loved him. He always talked to everyone. He was funny. He liked helping everyone. Everyone here really liked him.

Miami-Dade police officers arrested two people at 14601 NW 185 St., and Miami-Dade Fire Department personnel flew Chavarrias, 30, by helicopter to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital, where he later died.
