Not Imprisoned: Canceled; Kerry Washington Reveals Hulu Drama Not Returning for Season 3 – Canceled + Renewed TV Shows, Ratings

Not locked up won’t Returning for a third season. After two seasons on the streaming service, Hulu canceled the series.

According to Deadline, series star Kerry Washington announced the cancellation on her Instagram. She said this:

“This beautiful show, which we have put so much heart and soul into, will unfortunately not be available for a third season. But I wanted you to hear it from me, because while we’re super disappointed, we’re also incredibly grateful.

Making this show was a labor of love. And we know that so many of you have found connection and healing with the Alexander family – and that their impact will continue! We are soooo grateful to the entire cast and crew – not only are they brilliant and hardworking, but they are also VERY PLEASANT to work with!

Thank you to our fellow producers and all of our writers and directors who have guided, guided and inspired us. Thank you to ABCS, Hulu & Onyx for giving us a creative home. And most importantly, we are grateful to ALL OF YOU – for watching, laughing, crying, screaming, dancing, eye-rolling, cheering (and everything in between) in every episode. It was such a blessing. And we thank you.”

Delroy Lindo, Marque Richardson, Faly Rakotohavana and Jordyn McIntosh also starred in the series, which was inspired by the life of creator Tracy McMillian. The drama told the story of a woman whose life was turned upside down when her father was released from prison. The second season premiered in July.
