FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH cancels Mexico City show as support act for METALLICA following IVAN MOODY’s injury

Five Finger Death Strike had to cancel their performance in Mexico City on Sunday (September 29th) as a support act METALLICA due to an injury he sustained FFDP Singer Ivan Moody. The Las Vegas-based metallers are replaced on the list by the Mexican metal band AGORA.

On Saturday (September 28th)METALLICA released the following statement via social media: “Tomorrow we conclude this incredible second year M72 Tour with the final show in Mexico City. Unfortunately, @5fdp, our tour colleagues from the last two years, will not be there due to injury. We’re so sorry to hear about this IvanIt’s a mishap and we send him lots of love and good vibes for a speedy recovery.

“Instead we will be joined by @agoraoficial who is no stranger to the local and international festival scene they have played with.” GUNS N’ ROSES, JUDAS PRIEST, Iron Maiden, DEF LEPPARDAnd KISSto name just a few. With over twenty years of recording and touring experience, we look forward to seeing them first on the circular stage tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. Our friends ICE NINE KILLS follows shortly before our set.

As already reported, Moody broke his rib while performing with him Five Finger Death Strike Bandmates last Thursday (September 26th) in Louder than life Festival at the Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

The 44-year-old singer sustained the injury during the eleventh song of FIVE FINGERSis set, “IOU”on the first day of the festival when the weather turned rainy towards the end of the day. The video of the incident (see below) shows Moody He loses his footing as he walks across the stage before quickly righting himself and continuing with the final song of FIVE FINGERSis the regular set.

Moody took it later Instagram stories to give an update on his condition, explaining that he had a “bruise that runs from the inside of my armpit to the side of my knee.” Additionally, he said his hand felt “like it was shattered.”

After a visit to a local hospital, Moody said the final diagnosis was a “damn broken rib.” He added: “You’ve got to be kidding. It’s always something, man. Well, I’ll say this: it was worth it.” Louder than life. Really real.

Five Finger Death Strike shared a fan-filmed video of the incident, adding in a separate post: “At @louderthanlifefest last Thursday, @ivanmoody fell and broke a rib during the song.” ‘IOU’ – when it was raining heavily and despite the autumn Ivan was able to finish the sentence.
