Body of Hezbollah chief Nasrallah recovered from site of Israeli airstrike in Lebanon: report

A day after Lebanon-based militant group Hezbollah confirmed the death of its chief Hassan Nasrallah in Israeli airstrikes, his body was recovered and unharmed at the site of an Israeli airstrike on Beirut’s southern suburbs on Sunday (September 29), the news agency reported Reuters cited a medical source and a security source.

Hezbollah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was killed on Friday following Israeli air strikes on Beirut, as the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stepped up attacks on Lebanon.

The two sources said there were no direct wounds on Nasrallah’s body and that the cause of death appeared to be blunt trauma from the force of the explosion, Reuters reported.

After Nasrallah’s death, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel had “settled the score” with a “mass murderer.”

“We have settled the score with the person responsible for the murder of countless Israelis and many citizens of other countries, including hundreds of Americans and dozens of French,” the Israeli prime minister said.

This came after Netanyahu reportedly issued the order to neutralize Nasrallah, as Hezbollah would have regenerated if he had been allowed to remain alive.
