Former New York Covid adviser fired after video exposed partying during pandemic

Dr. Jay Varma, New York City’s Covid pandemic leader and executive vice president at SIGA Technologies, was fired after the release of a hidden camera video in which he admitted to attending a sex party during the pandemic.

SIGA Technologies, a New York-based pharmaceutical company, announced the termination of Jay Varma in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The incident occurred after the Mug Club Undercover podcast posted a video on YouTube last Thursday in which Jay Varma talks about hosting the event during the strict Covid-19 restrictions in August 2020.

The confidential conversation was published by the podcast host himself, which led to criticism of the doctor for his hypocrisy and dishonesty.

Jay Varma, who was brought to New York from Ethiopia to help deal with the pandemic, acknowledged the potential harm if he had been caught at that time, but said he was not afraid of fighting the Covid -violating regulations.

In the video is Dr. Hearing Jay say that the immunity provided by the COVID-19 vaccine is equivalent to the natural immunity that develops after a single exposure to the virus.

Jay Varma has confirmed the authenticity of a hidden camera video in which he admitted attending a drug-fuelled sex party during the pandemic lockdown. However, he criticized the footage as “fragmented and taken out of context”.

In a statement issued through a spokesperson, Jay said, “I accept responsibility for not acting in good faith at the time,” but noted that the recordings were private conversations that were secretly recorded and were changed.
