A 13-year-old student was sexually abused multiple times by three tutors in Mumbai. The accused men also showed her pornographic content on their cell phones, police said.

Rape in Mumbai: In a shocking case of pedophilia, three tutors in Mumbai have been accused of sexually abusing a 13-year-old student on multiple occasions. According to police, the three tutors identified as Gautam, Tarun Rajpurohit and Satya Raj sexually assaulted their minor student on multiple occasions and also showed her indecent images and videos on their mobile phones.

A senior police officer, citing the victim’s statement, said that the three men took the girl to the bedroom on several occasions where they showed inappropriate videos and images and also sexually assaulted her.

The girl’s mother was initially hesitant to file a police complaint but was finally convinced by the counselor, the official said, adding that a case has been registered against the accused teachers and two of them – Gautam and Tarun Rajpurohit – were arrested, while the girl’s mother initially hesitated to lodge a police complaint. The third accused, Satya Raj, is absconding and attempts are being made to arrest him.

Police said Gautam and Rajpurohit, who were arrested on Saturday, will remain in police custody till Monday.

“The defendant took advantage of the girl’s precarious home situation as her parents recently divorced. They sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions and showed her pornographic images and videos on their cell phones,” police said.

The three men have been booked under Section 354 (assault/criminal violence with intent to outrage the public), 376 (2) (rape), 377 (unnatural sexual intercourse) and Section 12, 4, 8 of the stringent POCSO Act registered. They said, adding that further investigation into the case was underway.

The incident came less than two months after the infamous Badlapur sexual assault case in which two four-year-old girls were sexually abused by the accused Akshay Shinde in the school washroom in August this year. Shinde, who worked as a cleaner at the school, was shot dead in a police operation earlier this month.
