NYC Mayor Eric Adams Indicted on Federal Criminal Charges

New York City Mayor Eric Adams has been indicted on federal charges that are expected to be unsealed tomorrow. This is what MSNBC, CNN, the New York Times and other media report.

This development makes Adams the first sitting mayor in New York City history to be impeached while in office.

It has been known for some time that Adams is being investigated. The Times has reported that the mayor is under three to four federal investigations, one of which is linked to the Turkish government. Investigators also sought information on Israel, China, Qatar, South Korea and Uzbekistan.

Regarding Turkey, prosecutors were investigating whether Adams accepted illegal donations from abroad in exchange for pressuring the fire department to approve a new Turkish consulate high-rise in Midtown despite safety concerns, the New York Times said, and Investigators also examined his free flights and upgrades from Turkish Airlines.
