Binghamton man charged in knife attack on Wallkill Route 211

TOWN OF WALLKILL — A Binghamton man was charged with assault Friday in a stabbing attack on Route 211 East.

City of Wallkill police said officers responded to a report of an assault on Route 211 East 265 just after 3:30 p.m. Friday.

When they arrived, they found a 64-year-old Middletown man suffering from multiple stab wounds.

The unidentified victim was taken by Wallkill EMS to Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown.

A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of 58-year-old Ronald Parker of Binghamton. He was charged with second-degree assault and third-degree weapon possession, both felonies, and fourth-degree weapon possession and second-degree menacing, both misdemeanors.

Police did not say what the motive was for the stabbing.

Parker was arraigned at the Orange County Central Arraignment before Mount Hope Town Judge John Goldsmith in lieu of $5,000 bail, $15,000 bail or $35,000 partially secured bail taken to the Orange County Jail pending his appearance in Town of Wallkill Court on Wednesday.

The name of Parker’s attorney was not immediately available.
