One person died in Tazewell County after Hurricane Helene

TAZEWELL CO., Va. (WDBJ) – The National Weather Service confirmed one person has died in Tazewell County following Hurricane Helene.

NWS said the person killed was cleaning up storm debris in their driveway when a large tree fell on them.

The person’s age and gender as well as the time of the incident are currently unknown.
