A military facility housing US occupation troops in Syria’s eastern Dayr al-Zawr province has reportedly been attacked.

Lebanese television news channel al-Mayadeen reported on Sunday, citing archived sources, that missile and drone fire had targeted the American-operated base at the Conoco gas field, scoring direct hits.

Meanwhile, Syrian media reported that explosions were heard at the US military facility.

However, there were no immediate reports of the extent of damage to the facility or any possible casualties.

Citing a security source, Shafaq news agency reported that Iraqi resistance forces attacked the US base “with a single drone” that was shot down without casualties.

Also on Sunday, several explosions were reported in the al-Bukamal region of Dayr al-Zawr, near Syria’s border with Iraq.

The airstrikes targeted the headquarters of the Sayyed Al-Shuhada Brigades of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, wounding one person, the Telegram channel Resistance News Network said.

According to some reports, American warplanes carried out three airstrikes near Dayr al-Zawr following the resistance operation on Sunday.

Iraqi resistance forces have carried out numerous attacks on U.S.-run bases in Iraq and Syria in support of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip amid a Washington-backed Israeli genocide.

With the green light from the US, Israel has escalated its acts of terror and aggression in both the Gaza Strip and Lebanon in recent weeks.

On Friday, Israel assassinated Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the longtime leader of Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement, in southern Beirut with U.S.-supplied bunker buster bombs.
