Leopard scare in Tirumala – The Hindu

After a brief respite, leopard terrors continue to plague devotees trekking to Tirumala hills.

A leopard was spotted near the control room on the Srivarimettu trekking route late on Saturday evening.

Security forces were alerted after dogs barked incessantly in the direction, which they later believed to be the result of a leopard’s movement. The security forces locked themselves in the control room and alerted the forest department.

It may be recalled that a leopard killed a child of a family trekking to Tirumala hills via Alipiri route.
