Vikings Nopedy Nopes: TJ Hockenson’s “delay,” the almighty knee-jerk, FA idea

The No no are weekly Minnesota Vikings-themed articles that we don’t buy. It’s a spin-off from our rumor mill and we hope you like it. Here is the 29th series of Vikings Nopedy Nopes in the series’ history.

The Nopedy No: TJ Hockenson will be taken off the PUP list next week and will be ready for the Vikings game in London.

Sources tell Viking territory that a more realistic return for Hockenson is around Week 8, when the Vikings travel to Los Angeles for a meeting with the Rams.

Minnesota is taking the cautious route with Hockenson and allowing his torn ACL to fully heal without the risk of re-injury. And with the franchise sitting at a solid 3-0, it makes sense to carefully pursue his recovery. Why push him back too soon?

Without Hockenson, a Hockenson-like tight end has not emerged in his place. According to the committee, the Vikings will rely on Josh Oliver and Johnny Mundt for TE duties through three games. So far, the club is undefeated and sits at the top of the NFC North with its wonderful solitude.

However, because Hockenson is justified To get off the PUP list next, many assumed he would return to the Vikings jets in London. That’s unlikely.

Verdict: No no.

The Nopedy No: The Vikings had bad karma against the Texans and Sam Darnold could have been lost for the season.

Vikings, no, no

After Danielle Hunter rolled into Sam Darnold’s knee last Sunday, the Vikings faithful feared the worst. And then they had to wait until an MRI on Monday morning.

But NFL Networks Tom Pelissero tweeted Monday: “Vikings QB Sam Darnold’s MRI revealed a knee bruise and no structural damage, per source.”

Injury luck has already ruined JJ McCarthy’s season, so Vikings loyalists – a cynical group – expected something bad about Darnold to come to light. But no. He is doing well and will play this weekend.

Verdict: No no.

The Nopedy No: Minnesota could explore OG Mark Glowinski’s free agency.

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports.

Bleacher Report rated each team’s potential free agent signing this week, telling Minnesota offensive lineman Mark Glowinski: “Ed Ingram has continued to struggle this year, and while Dalton Risner could soon be released from injured reserve to provide some help , There is no guarantee that Risner will be ready to play by the time he returns or that he will be the same player after the injury. So adding another experienced guard like Glowinski would be a smart move just in case.”

If he is signed by general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, the fit could be a bit odd since Risner is already linked to the depth chart. The veteran should heal from his injury soon, and if Ingram fails, Minnesota will add Risner to the lineup, potentially disproving the Glowinski theory.

If Risner wasn’t on the roster, we would say secure. Otherwise – no.

Verdict: No no.
