Tragic hit-and-run: Police officer killed in Delhi incident

In a tragic incident in the outskirts of Delhi, a driver is said to have hit and killed a motorcycle-riding police officer early Sunday morning. The incident took place around 2.15 am when the police officer, identified as 30-year-old Sandeep, was on duty and noticed the vehicle being driven recklessly.

As the driver reprimanded the driver, the car accelerated and crashed into Sandeep’s motorcycle, dragging him for about 10 meters. The vehicle came to a stop after hitting another car. Sandeep was admitted to Sonia Hospital with serious injuries and was later shifted to Balaji Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

According to Delhi Police, CCTV footage confirmed that Sandeep signaled the vehicle to slow down before the tragic incident. A case under BNS Section 103 (murder) has been registered and police are investigating the matter. Two suspects are currently on the run. Sandeep is survived by his mother, wife and five-year-old son.
