Man dead after fatal knife attack in Beverly Hills – NBC Los Angeles

Police are investigating the events that led to a fatal stabbing Saturday in Beverly Hills.

Investigators say initial reports indicate a confrontation occurred between two men near the intersection of Spalding Drive and Charleville Boulevard.

A witness who did not want to be named tells NBC4 that the injured man arrested by police allegedly tried to attack a father with a little girl near the same intersection.

“He had a baby in his arms and an attacker’s attack was clearly a situation we couldn’t just drive away from, so we pulled up right in front of them,” said the witness who intervened. “He wasn’t present, he was having some sort of psychotic break and it was kind of scary.”

The witness says that as soon as his son stopped, he jumped out to help the father and child – then he saw the man with a deep cut on his face turn his attention to his car and say he tried to grab his dog.

“I reached back, grabbed her and then pulled her back but he wouldn’t let go so I pulled her, he pulled her and then I started hitting him because I was screaming at him to get out of my car.” .

The witness says it was during this time that his car slowly rolled into a yard on Spalding Street – and saw the injured man stumble away towards a nearby house. He added that he did not see how the fatal stabbing occurred.

The man with the stab wound was taken to a hospital where he later died, authorities said.

Police have not released the identity of that man and say the other person involved in the confrontation is cooperating with investigators.
