Slayer reunion show canceled – music news

Organizers of the Louder Than Life festival in Louisville, Kentucky had to cancel due to poor weather conditions.

The second day of the four-day event was canceled due to winds of 80 km/h (50 miles per hour) blowing into the region and heavy rain from Hurricane Helene.

Louder Than Life’s Friday program included performances by Slayer, Till Lindemann, Anthrax, Evanescence and In This Moment. Slayer was set to play one of the most highly anticipated reunion shows.

“The Louder family, it breaks our hearts to share this, but the weather is just not in our favor today,” organizers said. “We have been working closely with our meteorologists and local authorities and holding out hope that we can open the doors, but the persistent gusts of wind are simply making it impossible for us to move forward safely. We know how disappointing this is – it’s good. “It’s stressful for us too, but your safety and that of our artists and crew are always our top priority.”

Louder Than Life kicked off on Thursday last week with performances from Slipknot, Five Finger Death Punch, The Offspring and Halestorm. However, on Friday, organizers warned on social media: “Rest assured, we are keeping a close eye on the situation and will provide updates as quickly as possible. Parking, doors and set times will be adjusted, and we are committed to rocking with you as soon as it is safe.
