Tragic bus accident in Madhya Pradesh claims nine lives

A tragic accident involving a private bus left nine people dead in Madhya Pradesh’s Maihar district, authorities confirmed on Sunday. In the incident, which occurred around 11pm on Saturday, the bus collided with a stationary truck loaded with stones.

According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Sudhir Agrawal, six people were initially reported dead but three others later succumbed to their injuries. Among the deceased is a four-year-old boy. Nearly 20 other passengers were injured and taken to various hospitals for treatment.

Initial investigations indicate that the bus was traveling too fast. Rescue teams used a gas cutter and an excavator to reach victims trapped in the wreckage. The operation ended around 2 a.m. on Sunday.
