In a heartbreaking incident, a young mother showed remarkable courage by sacrificing her life to save her 11-month-old daughter from a raging house fire.

Mutale Bwalya, an entrepreneur from Nkana East, Kitwe, rescued her baby Yande Amaya Bwalya.

She accomplished the feat by passing it through a window to a neighbor before succumbing to the flames that claimed her life.

Mwebantu reports that Mutale died alongside her parents Benedict and Josephine Bwalya.

According to Police Commissioner Peacewell Mweemba, the cause of the fire remains unknown but the tragedy claimed the lives of all three adult residents of the house.

Police are conducting further investigations to determine the cause of the inferno.

“Yande Amaya Bwalya, 11 months old, was rescued after her mother handed her to one of the neighbors through the window,” he said.

Commissioner Mweemba also confirmed that the infant’s condition was stable.

Mutale’s act of selfless love will forever be remembered by those who knew her, especially her surviving daughter.

The entire Kitwe community mourns the loss of a brave mother and her parents who lost their lives in a devastating tragedy.

As the investigation continues, many have offered to support baby Yande, who was saved by the ultimate act of maternal courage.
