Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top cancel show in Colorado Springs | Arts and entertainment

Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top have canceled their Saturday concert at Ford Amphitheater, citing a family medical emergency.

The amphitheater announced the cancellation Wednesday evening, writing in a Facebook post that Lynyrd Skynyrd singer Johnny Van Zant’s daughter suddenly became ill with an emergency illness.

“He left the tour to be with her as they continue testing, diagnosis and treatment,” the statement said.

Several other performances were also canceled, including performances in Loveland and Albuquerque, New Mexico
