Woman injured in drive-by shooting in northwest Houston, HPD searching for suspect who fled the scene

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Houston police are searching for a suspect after a woman was injured in a drive-by shooting in the Acres Homes neighborhood early Saturday morning.

Officers responded to the scene at W. Montgomery and W. Little York Road just after 12:30 p.m

According to police, the woman was standing in a parking lot when, according to officers, an unknown red pickup truck drove by and opened fire on the woman, hitting her.

The victim was hit in both legs. Officials said she was taken to the hospital and was stable.

The suspect vehicle fled shortly thereafter toward I-45, police said.

HPD said they would review camera footage and speak with those who witnessed the shooting.
