Snakebite: Tragic snakebite claims the life of a sister at Gwalior Government Hostel | Bhopal News

Bhopal: Two sisters were bitten by a poisonous snake while sleeping in their room in a government hostel in Ghatigaon. Gwalior.
The elder sister, a class seven student, was declared dead on arrival at Jayarogya Hospital while her younger sister, a class six student, remains in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
The sisters, 12-year-old Pallavi Jatav and 10-year-old Anu Jatav, were staying at the government’s Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Girls Hostel. The incident occurred early Friday morning when the snake bit her while she was sleeping. The warden and others caught and killed the snake before taking the girls to the hospital. The family expressed concerns about the shortage Security measures at the hostel and claimed that only one of the two appointed wardens was present at the time of the incident.
Police have launched an investigation and administration officials have indicated action will be taken in the case.
