Rocket fired from Lebanon lands near occupied Al-Quds

A snapshot from a video shows the moment a rocket fired from Lebanon lands near the holy city of al-Quds in the occupied West Bank.

At least one rocket fired from Lebanon has landed near the holy city of al-Quds in the occupied West Bank, amid ongoing retaliation by the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah against the Israeli regime’s escalated aggression against the country.

The projectile hit an illegal settlement in the city on Saturday, sparking a fire as Israeli authorities gathered in the area to assess damage from an earlier fire.

The Israeli military confirmed the development. Regime media reported that the rocket hit a building near al-Quds, adding that there were power outages in settlements in the area.

The development marked the first time that a projectile fired from Lebanon struck near al-Quds in response to the Israeli escalation.

Separately, unidentified aerial objects were spotted flying over the settlement of Nahariya in the far north of the occupied territories, causing sirens to go off in the area.

Hezbollah has carried out numerous retaliatory operations against the occupied Palestinian territories since October, when the regime stepped up its deadly attacks on Lebanon.

On Saturday, the movement carried out at least eight such operations, including against the Qatsrin settlement in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights in Syria.

At the start of the retaliation, Hezbollah fired a ballistic missile at Tel Aviv, hitting several targets around the city of Haifa in the northern part of the occupied territories.

The Israeli regime continued its escalation on Saturday, claiming the lives of at least 33 people and injuring 195 others across Lebanon, according to the country’s Ministry of Health.

A day earlier, Israeli warplanes began dozens of airstrikes against the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

The attacks resulted in the assassination of Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and claimed hundreds more lives.
