A tanker malfunction causes a multi-vehicle accident at Katapady Junction

Three vehicles were damaged in one incident Katapady Junction on NH 66 on Thursday, October 17, when a tanker malfunctioned due to a technical glitch. The tanker, which was traveling from Mangaluru to Udupi, hit a car and a scooter from behind before colliding with a nearby police post. The impact also damaged a surveillance camera installed at the intersection. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the occupants of the vehicles involved, although the tanker itself sustained significant damage.

The accident caused temporary traffic delays in the area as local police worked to control the scene and ensure the safety of motorists.
