Missing Medford man found dead

MEDFORD, Wis. (WSAW) – The search for Martevious Watts continued on Friday, October 18th. At approximately 9:13 p.m., Martevious’ deceased body was located in the river and recovered with the help of search crews.

Wings of Hope, along with Christian Aid Ministries Search and Rescue, again conducted ground and aerial searches in the Mill Pond area, as well as water searches in the river. Mill Pond’s water level has been lowered to facilitate search efforts.

“On behalf of the Medford Police Department, I would like to extend our condolences to the family and friends of Martevious,” Medford Police Chief Chad Liske said in a news release. “We would also like to thank Wings of Hope, North Star Search and Rescue, Wisconsin K9 SOS Search and Rescue, the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team, Christian Aid Ministries Search and Rescue and the community for their assistance in the effort to locate Martevious. thank you.” . The Medford Police Department will continue to investigate and work to provide further closure for the family.”
