According to police, a conflict between two men ended with a 55-year-old man being stabbed

SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City police are investigating a knife attack early Friday morning that left a 55-year-old man seriously injured.

The investigation began at 1:42 a.m. when officers with the department’s Airport Patrol Division received information about a person with a weapon near 200 N. 2200 West.

When officers responded, they received additional information that the fight had become physical and had resulted in a stabbing.

Once on scene, officers performed life-saving measures until paramedics arrived, where the man was taken to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The police believe this is an isolated incident because both men involved knew each other and “had an ongoing conflict before the stabbing,” according to a statement from the authority.

In addition, the suspect is known to the police and officers and detectives are currently investigating.
