Phoenix police are investigating two shootings near 83rd Avenue and Camelback Road

PHOENIX – Phoenix police are investigating two shootings near 83rd Avenue and Camelback Road Friday night.

Just after 7 p.m., officers were called to the area for reports of a shooting.

When they arrived, they found a man with at least one gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A second man was also found with at least one gunshot wound, police said. He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It is unclear whether the two shootings are related and how far away the second victim was found from the first.

The area is closed while the shooting is investigated.

According to police, further information is not expected to be released until Saturday.
