The co-hosts of “The View” gave bombastic reactions to former President Trump’s speech at the Al Smith Dinner on Friday as he skewered their show.

Trump spoke Thursday night at the 79th Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner, a decades-old charity event that brought together various movers and shakers in New York. The event has become a political and cultural hallmark of the election season and is known for adding levity to the campaign.

Several of the show’s co-hosts rejected the idea that Trump should attend the Catholic charity event, arguing that it contradicted actual Catholic values and normalized him as a person.

“The fact that Donald Trump is sitting there and we’re acting like he’s some kind of upstanding citizen, I find it pretty insulting,” said co-host Ana Navarro. “I’m glad Kamala Harris wasn’t there. Oh, and by the way, Donald Trump mispronounced her name 11 times.”

Later, co-host Joy Behar quipped, “It seems this show is one of Trump’s biggest campaign issues!”

They then showed footage of Trump grilling his critics over dinner and explained: “That stupid show ‘The View’ is so bad now that I was watching it the other day and I was like, ‘You know what? You really do.” “I have to bring Rosie O’Donnell back,” which drew laughter from the audience at the event.

“This show is bad. These people are bad. I know every single one of them, and that’s bad news. “If they’re not doing well, they’re not doing very well,” he said.

Behar then appeared to taunt him by muttering and shuffling wordlessly, then said, “Anyway, I think he hit all of us except Sunny.”

“Hell no, he’s never met me,” Navarro protested. “No, no, no, no, no. I don’t know what the hell you’re reading, but I have to tell you, I’ve lived in this country for 52 years, I’ve lived for 44 years. I never shook this man’s hand “I never gave him a kiss, I never saw his show, I never bought any of his crappy products and I never voted for him!”

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin declined his comment on their ratings, arguing, “We’ve been number one daytime for the last four years, so the ratings are fine.”

“Isn’t it so nice in his head to live rent-free?” Hostin asked later. “I mean, in this man’s head, we live rent free.”

“I enjoy it. I enjoy it, and I enjoy that he has admitted at least three to four times now that he watches the show. Thanks. Thanks, Donald. Hello!” she said to the camera.

In the past, presidential candidates from both political parties attended the Al Smith Dinner to engage in light-hearted interactions.

Harris skipped the event — the first time a candidate had done so since failed Democratic nominee Walter Mondale in 1984 — and instead sent dinner organizers a critically panned video to broadcast to the audience.
