Court documents released in the case of an El Paso County deputy accused of kidnapping and sexual assault

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – On Friday, 11 News received the plea deal against Dalton Briges, a former El Paso County deputy who was arrested on charges of aggravated kidnapping and sexual assault.

Bridges was arrested in January 2023 after being accused of refusing to allow a woman to leave her home and forcing her to have sex with him after a night out.

The suspect was initially charged with four counts of kidnapping and sexual assault, but in the plea deal he only pleaded guilty to two counts. Bridges accepted the plea deal.

As part of the agreement, Dalton Bridges would:

  • plead guilty to second-degree kidnapping and unlawful sexual contact
  • Serve a suspended sentence and spend 90 days in jail or two years with dismissal from work
  • You must register as a sex offender and complete domestic violence and sexual assault assessments within five days of sentencing
  • Covering criminal court costs, restitution to the victim, and covering the costs of all other dismissed charges

Dalton Bridge’s sentencing is scheduled for January 2, 2025. He faces up to six years in prison for kidnapping and two years for sexual assault.
