Chandler man arrested in connection with sexual assault case of 9-year-old

HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) – A Chandler man has been behind bars for nine years Friday for sexual assault.

Douglas Andrew Anthony, 40, is accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a Houston woman in 2015, according to a recently released arrest document.

The victim, whose name has not been released, attempted to leave a Houston bar with her friend after Anthony bought them drinks. The victim couldn’t bring her keys to work and Anthony asked if they needed a ride, the affidavit states. The two agreed, but Anthony reportedly refused to take her home.

According to the affidavit, he allegedly drove the victim to a gas station, attacked her behind the building and threatened to kill her if she didn’t comply.

They then returned to the car, where Anthony forced her to perform sexual acts while he drove to another location, the affidavit said. They got out in a meadow near a bridge, where he allegedly attacked them again.

Anthony drove to a third location but was interrupted by the presence of a car nearby. He allegedly let the victim get back into the vehicle and attacked her again.

The affidavit says he later dropped her off on the street from her home and she was able to call police.

In April 2016, DNA testing revealed that the suspect’s DNA was a “high stringency” match to that of Douglas Anthony, the affidavit said.

A Harris County judge signed an arrest warrant on October 14, 2024. The affidavit does not explain why the warrant was signed eight years after the connection was discovered.

Anthony was arrested Friday and taken to the Henderson County Jail. He is charged with both sexual assault and aggravated sexual assault for a total bond of $200.00.
