Man Allegedly Posed in Front of Dentist and Abused Patient – NBC New York

A man posing as a dentist in New Jersey was arrested and charged after he sexually assaulted a female patient who mistook him for legitimacy, according to law enforcement.

Police were called to an office building on Route 46 in Fairfield on Monday and officers spoke with a woman who said she had been sexually assaulted by a man she was seeing for dental treatment, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said Friday with.

The 31-year-old man was later identified as Jonathan Colombo of Orange Township. Law enforcement said Colombo marketed himself as a dentist on social media, using the Instagram usernames “newyoudental” and “newyousmiles.”

The victim told police she saw Colombo’s online ads in which he said he could offer veneers at a discounted price. The two spoke to each other via social media, the prosecutor said, and agreed on a price for the veneers. She then made an appointment to meet with him at the Fairfield office on October 14th.

Prosecutors said Colombo sexually assaulted the victim after performing the procedure.

Colombo was accused of practicing dentistry without a license. It was not immediately clear what charges, if any, he would face in connection with the alleged sexual assault. No attorney information was available for Colombo.

An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about these or similar allegations is asked to contact the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office at 1-877-847-7432.
