1 person hospitalized after three-vehicle crash on I-79

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) – One person was taken to the hospital after a vehicle accident on I-79 Friday afternoon.

The crash was reported in the southbound lanes near mile marker 120 – between the Meadowbrook Mall and Route 50 exits – around 2:50 p.m.

According to Harrison County Emergency Management officials, three vehicles were involved in the crash.

Traffic on I-79 was backed up for miles as of 3:30 p.m

The Bridgeport Fire Department, Clarksburg Fire Department, Bridgeport EMS, Harrison County EMS and Bridgeport Police responded to the scene.
