Suspect charged in stabbing teenager in neck near New York City Hall: NYPD

NEW YORK CITY (AP) — A 41-year-old man was arrested and charged after stabbing a 19-year-old man in the neck near City Hall in Lower Manhattan on Wednesday, police said.

Marvin Dupree was charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault, police said.

The incident occurred just after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday outside the municipal building at 1 Center St, Patch previously reported.

The suspect allegedly approached the victim from behind and stabbed him in the lower neck and upper back, police said.

The victim was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition, police said.

Dupree was arrested by police after the incident in Harlem.

An investigation is still ongoing.
