Statesville Police announce Fill the Trailer Toy Drive kickoff in 2024

The Statesville Police Department (SPD) is pleased to announce the launch of the 2024 Fill the Trailer Toy Drive, a community initiative aimed at spreading holiday cheer to families in need. Many families in our community face financial hardships and are unable to provide the extras that make the holiday season special for their children. We believe that with your help we can make a meaningful difference and bring joy to these families.

Event kicks off at the Statesville Pumpkinfest

The official kickoff for this year’s Fill the Trailer Toy Drive will take place on November 2nd from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Pumpkinfest in Downtown Statesville. We invite you to take part in this event and bring your new, unwrapped toys or suitable gifts for children and young people aged 0-17. Our drop-off location will be at the intersection of Tradd and E. Broad Streets.

Donation ideas

We welcome a variety of gifts including:

• Board games, cards, travel games, puzzles and books
• Sports related items including soccer balls, basketballs, soccer balls
• Electronic handheld or portable games
• Manicure sets, hair and nail accessories, fragrance sets
• Hat and glove sets, scarves
• Artist and drawing supplies sets, craft sets, educational toys
• Remote controlled vehicles, toy cars, action figures, dolls

Please note that we cannot accept gift cards, monetary donations, clothing, stuffed animals or food.

Donation drop-off point

Donations may be dropped off at the Statesville Police Headquarters, 330 S. Tradd Street, Statesville, NC 28677, in the designated drop-off area until December 13, 2024.

If you prefer to make your contribution via online shopping, you can also order gifts via Amazon here and have it sent directly to the SPD headquarters using the QR code.

Additional toy drive dates

To make it easier for the community to participate, SPD officers and staff will also be present at the Walmart Supercenter at 1116 Crossroads Drive on the following dates:

• Saturday, November 9, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m
• Saturday, November 16, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m
• Saturday, December 7, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m
• Saturday, December 14, 2023, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m
