Fort Worth-area restaurants offer Halloween specials

It’s been a while since Halloween was all about candy, but in 2024 the holiday has taken off and you can see it in Fort Worth area restaurants. More and more businesses are offering Halloween-themed food and events: from colorful cupcakes to specialty cocktails to restaurants hosting costume parties and special themed nights. (Here’s a list of bars that offer spooky specialty cocktails.)

Halloween is no longer just for children. Here you will find all the enchanting food and drinks:

Food specialties

Cinnaholic, the destination for cinnamon rolls, has a new Cemetery Box featuring four chocolate-frosted rolls topped with pretzels, Oreos, sprinkles and spooky tombstone toppers for $24, available through October 31st. Addison, Arlington, Frisco, Grand Prairie, Mansfield, Richardson, Las Colinas, Mesquite and McKinney.

El Chingon, the Fort Worth Mexican restaurant, offers spooky offerings ranging from a burrito eating contest to specialty cocktails. The “Boo-Rito” eating contest on Oct. 27 will feature attempts to eat a five-pound ghost pepper burrito in 30 minutes. The first three people to complete will win prizes including the ultimate VIP experience, a $100 gift card and a $50 gift card voucher. Entry is free. A costume contest with a cash prize of $500 will be held on October 31st. Select cocktails are $12 through November 2, including Vampire Blood with vodka, blueberry liqueur, lime juice and Sprite. and Candy Corn, a combination of coconut rum, peach, orange juice and grenadine.

Jeremiah’s Italian Ice has new Halloween-inspired gelati favorites: Smashing Pumpkin with pumpkin pie ice cream, vanilla ice cream; Monster Mash with Cookies & Cream Ice, Blue Razz Ice and vanilla ice cream; and Franken Frog with mint ice cream and chocolate ice cream. All come with a trick-or-treat candy mix.

Mr. Gatti’s Pizza welcomes back Jack and Frank, two Halloween-themed pizzas identified by their shape: Jack, a jack-o’-lantern-shaped pizza, and “Frank,” a Frankenstein-shaped pizza. The pizzas are take-and-bake pizzas – packaged on a tray with cooking instructions – and cost $10 each.

Nothing Bundt Cakes offers two special flavors, both starting at $6.25: Chocolate Toffee Crunch, a Hershey’s caramel chocolate cake filled with Heath English toffee and topped with Heath pieces, available through October 20; and Oreo Dirt Cake with chocolate cake, Oreo cookie pieces, chocolate pudding filling and topped with fruity gummy worms, available October 28th through November 10th.

There will be a murder mystery dinner at Southfork Ranch on October 31st. At a masquerade ball, participants must unmask the murderer behind the chaos. The three-course meal includes salad; Angus steak skewers with Lyonnaise potatoes and roasted root vegetables or ginger habanero chicken with pineapple-mango chutney, garlic mashed potatoes and green beans; and a choice of peach cake or chocolate lava cake. Participants must be at least 21 years old and are asked to wear evening wear and Venetian masks. Tickets are $125.

SusieCakes is serving several spooky treats, including ghost and pumpkin sugar cookies, cake toppers – like Black SusieKitty, Spiderweb Vintage, and Halloween cookie decorating kits – available through October 31st. Prices start at $24 for a box of four Halloween sugar cookies. Boo Cupcake Box, Halloween Cupcakes and Mini Cupcakes start at $33 for a mini dozen cupcakes and are available October 16-31.

Rita’s Shaved Ice Necklace has two new items: Pumpkin Toffee Crunch and Dracula’s Delight. There’s also a new almond toffee crunch topping. Available at all locations until November 3rd.

Chipotle Mexican Grill has brought back the Boorito, a Halloween tradition in which Chipotle Rewards members who show up in costume get a discounted entree for $6. It is a one-day special offer available on October 31st from 3:00 p.m. until the end.

Cocktail and drink specials

Texas Live!, the Arlington venue, is hosting a cemetery-themed bar crawl on October 26 at 8 p.m. Sip specialty cocktails including Bloody Shirley Temple and Graveyard Margarita, enjoy live music from DJs and participate in a costume contest with $5,000 in cash prizes. The bar crawl is free, but a $30 general admission ticket includes three drinks and a lanyard pass.

Bar Louie offers specialty snacks and liquor, including $5 Blue Moon drinks and limited-time Halloween-inspired shots. Poison apple can be seen in the recordings, withRum Haven, melon liqueur, pineapple and cream and Phantom sparkling water, withSauza Silver, sour, butterfly pea flower and sprite. There’s also the Martini of the Month for October: the Purple Reign Martini with Deep Eddy Lemon, Las Californias Citrico, honey, pineapple and lemon butterfly pea blossom. Guests can add Bavarian pretzels to their order for $9. The special offers are valid from October 31st to November 3rd.

Dia de los Muertos

Mexican Sugar is offering a cocktail and flower crown class on October 31st for $45 per person. This will be followed by Dia de los Muertos celebrations on November 1st and 2nd, with free tequila tastings, a tequila smoking show with a nitrogen margarita bar, free permanent flash tattoos, a marigold photo opportunity and DJs lively mood. Activities are offered at Las Colinas, Plano and Uptown locations.

Taqueria La Ventana is hosting a Día de los Muertos celebration at its Addison and Mansfield locations on November 2nd from 6 to 10 p.m. There will be DJs, face painting and a Catrina costume contest where guests can compete for a $100 gift card. Visitors can also enjoy free pan de muerto and hot chocolate while supplies last. In Mansfield, the bonus feature consists of a Pretty Little Things market and a lottery game.
