Tully Blanchard claims he was fired from AEW because he missed an event

Tully Blanchard claims AEW released him because he missed an event.

Blanchard was featured in All Elite Wrestling between 2019 and 2022. During his tenure, he was originally paired with Shawn Spears and FTR and later formed “Tully Blanchard Enterprises” under the Ring Of Honor brand. Blanchard’s group was then sold to Prince Nana at ROH Death Before Dishonor 2022. Nana renamed it “The Embassy” and Blanchard never returned to television.

Now Blanchard claims that AEW fired him because he missed an event on a recent episode of his Tully Vision series on AdFreeShows.com. The Four Horsemen co-founder described not having to plan games and being able to work alongside other Horsemen based on audience reaction. He says it’s “oil and water” compared to working with AEW talent who are trained differently.

“But everything worked out well and I was on TV for a while. I was traveling with some very great talent and was excited to do it. And then [long pause]If you miss a show, you get fired.” [laughs]

Tully Blanchard has previously spoken about his AEW departure

Last year, Blanchard commented on his departure during an appearance Wrestling Shoot Interviews. Here, Blanchard claimed that someone at AEW didn’t like his on-air work.

“Obviously someone didn’t like what I did or someone didn’t like what I did,” Blanchard said.

In July 2022, Fightful reported (via Fightful Select) that Blanchard did not participate in Death Before Dishonor the night before. It was noted that there were “differing opinions” as to why he was not backstage. Some sources claimed Blanchard was absent because of his prison ministry group, while others claimed he simply didn’t show up at the event. Despite the lack of clarity regarding his absence, ROH staff and talent were told that Blanchard was effectively gone and would have no role in future plans.
