Schenectady man arrested for possession of child pornography, police say

Ryan Marx, 32, of Schenectady, was arraigned Thursday, Oct. 17, in Schenectady.

Trooper Stephanie O’Neil said New York State Police investigated Marx’s activities with assistance from Troop G’s Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the City of Rotterdam Police Department.

His arrest followed an investigation and the execution of a search warrant at his Schenectady home after state police received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Marx was charged and tried for promoting a sexual performance by a child and possession of a sexual performance by a child.
