Anita Dobson is tearful as she gives Brian May an update after health problems | Television & Radio | Showbiz and television

Anita Dobson was visibly moved as she updated her fans on her husband Brian May’s condition following his health scare.

In a previous statement in September, the Queen guitarist revealed that he had suffered a stroke. He said at the time: “The good news is that after the events of the last few days I can play guitar again.”

“I say that because there was doubt about it because the little health hiccup I mentioned happened about a week ago and it was what they called a mild stroke. Suddenly – out of the blue – I no longer had any control over that arm. So it was a little scary.

Appearing on Loose Women today, Anita responded with heartfelt gratitude to the presenters’ questions about her husband’s well-being. She said, “Thanks for asking. I’m very happy to say that he’s stable now that he’s sitting here. It was a bolt from the blue and a big wake-up call for both of us.”

“We think we can storm through life and do the things we want to do and fail and succeed. And you never think about the inevitable moment when you have to slow down. This made him – and me too – think, “We’re not getting any younger and at some point we’ll have to face the prospect of no longer being able to do what we want.”

Anita spoke about her changing outlook on life: “You really have to slow down and start making compromises. It was quite a shock, but not a big shock because thank God he’s fine!”

Brian was admitted to Frimley Hospital in Surrey and fortunately his condition has improved significantly. At the time, he told fans: “So the good news is I’m fine. I just do what I’m told, which is basically nothing. I’m not allowed to go out – well, I do.” You’re not allowed to drive, you’re not allowed to get on a plane, you’re not allowed to increase your heart rate too much.”

When the sound of an airplane interrupted one of his videos, he commented on his situation with the joke: “I’m not allowed to let airplanes fly over me, it stresses me out. But I’m fine.”

He urged people not to come forward to offer their congratulations, adding: “I really don’t want sympathy. Please don’t do this because it will clutter up my inbox and I hate that.”
