Charles Esten returns to Smith Mountain Lake, a tour stop for his debut album

SMITH MOUNTAIN LAKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Singer and actor Charles Esten is a familiar face on your television screen.

These days, his music is taking center stage with the release of his debut album, Love Ain’t Pretty.

“It went over so well. And it was an absolute joy to go out on the road and play all those places,” Esten says.

Many fans also know the singer and actor from his memorable roles in the television series “Nashville” and “Outer Banks”.

Esten has been racking up miles with several of his “Nashville” cast members on their current reunion tour.

“And it’s really hard to explain what it means to me that I get to put those boots back on, get behind the guitar and be that man, just to be on the mic a little bit more,” Esten says.

On Saturday evening, Esten returns to The Coves Amphitheater at Smith Mountain Lake, a special stop in the turbulent tour schedule.

“But I promise you, this doesn’t feel like work to me. It feels like a reward to be able to be with the people I love so much and play in this beautiful venue. “Some of the things I do, even when it seems like I’m busy, some of them are healing and wonderful for my soul, and the Coves at Smith Mountain Lake is one of them,” says Esten.

Since Esten also has family roots in southwest Virginia, Esten keeps coming back, much to the delight of his loyal fans.

“So I hope everyone who has come out before has this little reunion. And if you haven’t seen it yet, get in the car and drive to the lake, you won’t have a more beautiful evening,” says Esten.
