Denver Broncos at New Orleans Saints: Predictions, Tips, Odds

play

Sean Payton, the legendary former coach of the New Orleans Saints, faces his former team this weekend, now on the sidelines at the Denver Broncos.

Each of these teams had opposite starts to the season. The Saints looked like one of the league’s deadliest teams in the first two weeks, then fell apart faster than a Lego figure falling from a 10-story building. Meanwhile, the Broncos looked like one of the worst teams in the NFL and were in contention for the first overall pick, but have slowly started to turn things around. They may not have looked great against the Los Angeles Chargers a week ago, but they will have a chance to bounce back on prime time television in Louisiana.

Here are our experts’ predictions for the Week 7 showdown.

Lorenzo Reyes: Broncos 17, Saints 13

Honestly, I don’t love this piece one way or the other. Still, given the numerous injuries New Orleans is dealing with — including those to Derek Carr and receiver Chris Olive — it’s hard to imagine the Saints putting up many points against a stout Broncos defense looking to bounce back hopes.

Tyler Dragon: Saints 20, Broncos 17

The Broncos and Saints are both on a short break and coming off losses. The Saints will be motivated by Sean Payton’s return to New Orleans. I expect the team to perform well against their old head coach. Bo Nix threw an interception last week and Spencer Rattler threw two INTs. Expect a low-scoring game with both rookie QBs going up against strong defenses.

Richard Morin: Broncos 33, Saints 32

Don’t go against Bo!

Jordan Mendoza: Broncos 22, Saints 20

Sean Payton wants to prove he is better than his Saints successor and has a more aggressive approach to his play calls. Bo Nix has the potential to break through with a big away win.
