CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A Cuyahoga County sheriff’s deputy was involved in a shooting Thursday night that sent a teenager to the hospital in serious condition, according to a Cuyahoga County spokesperson.

Cuyahoga County spokeswoman Jennifer Ciaccia confirmed to 19 News that a deputy was involved in the shooting at Superior and East 26th Street.

Ciaccia told 19 News that the single gunshot was treated at MetroHospital and the two other suspects in that incident were taken into custody.

19 News confirmed a 15-year-old male was taken to MetroHealth Hospital in serious condition.

Ciaccia said the deputy was taken to Lutheran Hospital for a medical evaluation and released.

Cleveland police and the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office closed the stretch of road in the Asiatown area of ​​Cleveland last night.

Superior Avenue was closed last night from East 24th to East 30th.
