Appleton Police announce release of sex offender

The Appleton Police Department announced that two sex offenders will be released in the next few weeks.

An announcement on Facebook explains that Edmund L. Fraser will be released next Tuesday (October 22).nd), while Paul P. Schmidt is expected to be released on Tuesday, November 5thTh.

Fraser was convicted of second-degree sexual assault of a child, possession of child pornography and 3approxsexual assault of the 3rd degree and 4th degreeThSexual assault to a certain extent.

Schmidt is convicted of 1stsexual assault of a child and tampering with a GPS tracking device.

Fraser will temporarily reside in the 500 block of West College Avenue, while Schmidt will temporarily relocate to the 600 block of Superior Street.

Appleton police say neither men are currently wanted and the alert is not intended to incite fear; Rather, it is intended to inform the public so that it is safer.

They also remind residents that harassment or threats from the public will not be tolerated.
