After the commercial debacle with Agent, Akhil Akkineni has now signed up for a period drama against the backdrop of ‘Tirupati?’ Here’s what we know

Akhil Akkineni’s filmography has been in a dynamic phase for quite some time now. After his last hit with “Most Eligible Bachelor” and “Mr. Majnu” he got into a debacle with the 2023 release agent. And now the latest rumors say that the actor is now looking forward to another redemptive project which is said to be a period drama.

After the unprecedented performance of his last release, Akhil Akkineni seemed to be out of the game, which made his fans curious about what he might be planning next. Amid all this, a recent report suggests that Nagarjuna’s son has been roped in for another new project, a period drama. Directed by Murali Kishore, a new director, the film is said to be set against the backdrop of Tirupati Temple.

That’s not all. The report also revealed that it was none other than Akhil’s father Nagarjuna who took the crucial decision for this upcoming film and ensured that it becomes a cathartic project for his son.

In fact, Nagarjuna Akkineni even ensured that there would be no compromise on the quality of the film and he himself would therefore oversee the budget and final execution of the film.

This film is bankrolled by Annapurna Studios and Akhil has put his trust in the new director like Murali Kishore to bring nothing short of a spectacle on screen this time. An official announcement and confirmation of the film will be made by the makers soon.

Akhil Akkineni had surprisingly made his debut as a toddler in the 1995 film Sisindri. It was his only outing as a child artist in a film self-financed by his father Nagarjuna.

He returned to the world of cinema in 2015 with the film Akhil, in which he played the lead role. However, despite the enormous hype, the film failed to do well at the box office and was declared a commercial failure.

Now it will be interesting to see how his upcoming film performs at the box office.
