Child hospitalized overnight after shooting

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – A child was hospitalized after a shooting overnight.

According to Lexington police, they were called to Imperial Avenue off Newtown Pike just before 2 a.m. Friday.

When they arrived, they discovered the child had a single gunshot wound.

Her injuries are not life-threatening.

Police would not confirm the child’s exact age but do not believe the shooting was an accident.

No arrests have been made and no suspect information has been released.
