The Canandaigua dog attack case has been postponed until November

The case against a Canandaigua couple charged after their pit bull attacked a father and son has been adjourned to Nov. 18. Casey Murphy, 26, and Madison Herendeen, 27, are charged with third-degree assault and second-degree reckless endangerment. Both pleaded not guilty in September.

The charges stem from an Aug. 29 attack in which their now-euthanized pit bull bit 10-year-old Wren VanGrol and his father, Ryan, as they walked downtown. The same dog was involved in another incident in early August.

Defense attorneys for Murphy and Herendeen have filed pretrial motions, and prosecutors have until mid-November to respond. The couple remains free at their own discretion.
