Candlelight vigil in honor of the girls who died in the East Legon accident

A candlelight vigil will be organized in honor of Maame Dwomoh Boateng and Justine Agbenu, two young women who tragically lost their lives in the infamous accident in East Legon on Saturday, October 12, 2024.

The vigil, titled “All White Candlelight Vigil,” will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. The ceremony invites family and the community to gather at the scene of the accident in her memory.

The two young women were victims of a fatal car accident in East Legon, Accra when Elrod Salifu Amoako, the son of Bishop Salifu Amoako, rammed his Jaguar 4×4 into the Acura they were traveling in. The accident shocked the nation and sparked widespread outrage and discussion about reckless driving and road safety.

The accident occurred in the late hours of October 12 when Elrod Salifu Amoako reportedly lost control of his vehicle and collided with the Acura. Both Maame Dwomoh Boateng and Justine Agbenu, who were in the Acura at the time, were pronounced dead at the scene, marking the tragic end of two promising young lives.

Since the accident, many Ghanaians have expressed their grief and frustration online and called for justice against Elrod Salifu Amoako, who is currently under investigation. Friends, family and the wider community are mourning the loss and sending heartfelt messages of love and support to the victims’ families.
