Noida News: 3-year-old sexually abused twice in school, mother raises alarm, “teacher tried to ward off…”

Noida News: A three-year-old child was reportedly sexually abused twice by a school employee, the mother said, expressing concern over the school management’s response, who claimed the teacher tried to “shrug off” the incidents, The Times of India reported.

The accused, a 30-year-old domestic worker in the school’s junior section, allegedly molested the child on campus twice, earlier this month and a few weeks ago, the report said.

Speaking to ToI on October 16, the mother raised alarm over a “serious lapse” that had led to such an incident occurring twice. She also alleged that the child’s teacher discouraged the minor from talking about the abuse at home.

What happened?

On October 4 (Friday), the worker, who identified the child as someone who served food in the canteen – she called him “Khana Bhaiya”, allegedly took her to the school’s hospital room, locked the doors and sexually assaulted her, as it’s called report.

The mother added that he “jumped out of the window” when another stick, identified as “Didi,” was attracted to the child’s scream. The child refused to go to school on October 7 (Monday) and complained of pain in the genital area.

The mother said they took the child to a pediatrician and were asked to have him tested for an infection. The next day, the doctor informed her that her child had been sexually abused, the report said.

Teacher is said to have “dealt with” the incident

The minor opened up only after counseling and told her parents what happened on October 4 and that the same staff had molested her while playing in the schoolyard a few weeks earlier. The child also reported the incident to his class teacher but was told: “gharpe mat batana” (don’t tell your parents).

According to the report, the mother called the teacher and was surprised that the teacher tried to dismiss the incidents, instead claiming that the child may have been watching inappropriate videos. The mother then contacted the police.

An FIR was lodged on October 9 and the child recorded a statement with the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) where he identified the accused based on photographs shown by the police.

On this basis, the accused was arrested on October 10 at Nithari village on charges of raping a child below 12 years of age under BNS Section 65(2) and a notice was sent to the school principal, the report said.

However, the school principal told the newspaper that the parents had not told them about the incident and it was only brought to their attention by police on October 9.
