Man sentenced to 50 years in prison for serious sexual abuse of a minor

RAPID CITY, SD (KOTA) – Lloyd Emerson Elk, 47, was sentenced Thursday to 50 years in federal prison for aggravated sexual abuse of a minor.

The Kyle man was convicted in July of four counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a minor, one count of abusive sexual contact and one count of tampering with a witness.

Elk was accused of sexually abusing a girl between the ages of five and seven near Kyle on multiple occasions between 2013 and 2015.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Elk threatened the victim, saying if she ever told anyone, he would kill her, her mother and her brother.
