Minden woman dies in crash on I-20

(KSLA) – A 23-year-old Minden woman died within two days of being involved in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 20, Louisiana State Police reported Thursday (October 17).

Troop G was informed that Ruby Brantley had succumbed to her injuries on October 13th.

The accident occurred around 3 p.m. on Oct. 11 on I-20 west of Louisiana Highway 9 in Arcadia.

Preliminary investigation shows that Brantley was driving a 2006 Ford Fusion west on I-20 when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle left the road and entered a ditch where it began to roll over, Troop G reported.

Brantley, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Although no impairment was suspected, toxicology samples were routinely collected and submitted for analysis.
