Third victim files lawsuit against former assistant teacher accused of sexual assault

KENOSHA – Anna Marie Crocker, a former teacher’s aide at Riverview Elementary School in Silver Lake, is accused of sex with a child under thirteen and two other felonies.

A third victim was identified at the preliminary hearing.

“We are now on the third victim and should receive these reports sometime this week,” lawyer Alexandra Smathers said in court. “In addition, Detective Moro thoroughly examines the defendant’s phone, which may also lead to additional charges.”

At Thursday’s court hearing, Crocker agreed to postpone the preliminary hearing date. As she may face further charges.

Crocker already faces three charges, including:

• First degree child sexual abuse – sexual intercourse with a child under 13 years of age,
• Possession of child pornography and
• Sexual exploitation of a child – filming.

Ashlyn Witting, a parent at Riverview Elementary School, said she was stunned to learn the news that more victims were coming forward.

“It’s sad to know that people like this exist, but it’s great to know that they’re being stopped,” Witting said. “I think that speaks volumes to other people who would consider harming children in this way.”

Crocker will be back in court on Friday, November 22nd.
